Plans change — we get it. This page explains, in plain language, what happens to your money when a Wedding or Pre-Wedding booking is cancelled, with a real worked example so there are no surprises.
1. When this policy applies
This policy covers protected Wedding and Pre-Wedding bookings made through Reelography. A booking becomes protected once you pay the advance and the studio, package, price, team, dates, and deliverables are locked. Other occasions may follow simpler, separately-stated rules until they move onto the protected model.
2. What you pay, and when
For a protected booking you pay in two parts. Because you only pay the advance before your event, any cancellation before the event is calculated on that advance — never on money you have not paid yet.
- Advance — 25% of the booking value. This confirms your date and locks your package.
- Remaining balance — 75% of the booking value. Requested only after your final event is shot, before your photos are delivered.
3. Customer cancellation refunds (before the event)
The closer you cancel to the event, the more of your advance the studio keeps for holding your date and turning away other work. Refunds are a percentage of the advance you paid:

- The 48-hour cooling-off refund does not apply to last-minute bookings.
- If you book within 7 days of your event, you accept the last-minute terms up front, and the “less than 7 days” row applies straight away.
- At the exact 30-day and 7-day marks, the later (stricter) row applies. Timing uses your first event's date and time.
4. A worked example
Your booking value is ₹1,00,000, so your advance is ₹25,000 (25%). You have not paid the ₹75,000 balance yet.
- Cancel within 48 hours of paying → full ₹25,000 back.
- Cancel 45 days before the wedding → ₹13,750 back (studio keeps ₹11,250 for the reserved date).
- Cancel 20 days before → ₹6,250 back.
- Cancel 3 days before, or don't show up → ₹0 back.
You are never charged the ₹75,000 balance for a booking you cancel before the event.
5. If your event has already started
Once your first booked event has begun, the table above no longer applies. Work that has already been done — or partly done — is not refundable. For any later events in the same booking that have not taken place, our support team reviews your situation individually and confirms any adjustment with you. We never auto-refund a full advance after an event has started.
6. If the studio cancels
Studios are expected to honour every confirmed booking. In the rare case a studio cannot continue, we first try to arrange a suitable replacement studio for your dates. If no replacement works for you, you are refunded the money still held for your booking. Studio cancellations are tracked and can lead to removal from the platform.
7. Rescheduling instead
If your dates move, you may be able to reschedule instead of cancelling. Rescheduling keeps your locked package and price. Fair-use limits apply, and how close you are to the event can affect whether a reschedule fee is charged. Your booking summary is always the source of truth for what is included.
8. How to cancel and get your refund
- Open your booking in the Reelography app and choose to cancel.
- The app shows your exact refund amount before you confirm, based on the table above and your timing.
- Refunds are sent back to your original payment method.
- How long it takes to appear depends on your bank or card issuer. If you need help, contact us with your booking ID.
